Job Overview:
Asante Gold Corporation is seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Technician to join our team at the Bibiani Mine Site. The ideal candidate will ensure the reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment within our metallurgical processing plant. .
Key Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant equipment.
Read, interpret, and work accurately from fabrication drawings, technical measurements, and maintenance manuals.
Carry out welding, assembly, and fitting tasks in accordance with standard procedures and safety requirements.
Identify potential mechanical failures and implement preventative maintenance strategies.
Ensure compliance with Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health, Safety and Technical) Regulations.
Collaborate effectively within a multi-cultural team, respecting diverse values and opinions.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum of Mechanical Engineering Technician Part II Certificate or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Mechanical Technician Certificate of Competency issued by the Minerals Commission of Ghana.
At least five (5) years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably within a metallurgical processing plant environment.
Strong mechanical maintenance skills in mining or extractive metallurgy operations.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements accurately.
Knowledge of welding methods, materials, and relevant safety practices.
High attention to detail, understanding that minor errors can cause significant equipment failures.
Familiarity with Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health, Safety and Technical) Regulations.
Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
