Position Summary
The Community Bank is seeking proactive and customer-focused Microfinance Field/Credit Officers to support the delivery and management of microfinance products within assigned communities.
The successful candidates will actively promote microfinance products, conduct loan assessments, support disbursement processes, and ensure effective loan recovery and customer engagement.
This role requires strong field presence, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work closely with individuals and groups in diverse communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and market the bank’s microfinance products within assigned communities.
- Identify potential clients and support customer acquisition for microfinance services.
- Conduct loan appraisal, verification, and assessment of applicants.
- Process loan disbursements in line with approved procedures and policies.
- Monitor active loans and ensure timely repayment and recovery processes.
- Follow up on overdue accounts and implement recovery strategies where necessary.
- Train and support microfinance customers, including group lending clients.
- Maintain accurate customer records, loan documentation, and group information.
- Prepare regular field and portfolio performance reports for management review.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, community groups, and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with credit policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Support financial inclusion initiatives within assigned communities.
Qualifications and Requirements
- First Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognized institution.
- Experience in microfinance, credit administration, or field banking will be an advantage.
- Ability to ride a motorbike is highly desirable.
- Applicants must clearly indicate in their application letter whether they can ride a motorbike.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently in field environments.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel extensively within assigned communities.
