We invite applications from qualified professionals to join our Network Planning team as a Microwave Planning Specialist.

Role Overview

The Microwave Planning Specialist plays a critical role in the design, planning, optimization, and performance management of microwave transmission networks. The role supports network expansion, capacity enhancement, and service quality improvement while ensuring alignment with Telecel Ghana’s technical standards and business objectives.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical expertise, hands-on planning experience, and a proactive approach to network performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and plan microwave transmission links in support of access and core network requirements

• Perform link budget analysis, frequency planning, and path profiling

• Optimize microwave network performance to ensure high availability and quality of service

• Support network rollout, upgrades, and modernization projects

• Conduct interference analysis and recommend mitigation strategies

• Ensure compliance with internal engineering standards and regulatory requirements

• Collaborate with RF, IP, core network, and field implementation teams

• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and network design proposals

• Support troubleshooting and resolution of microwave network issues

  Qualifications, Education, and Experience

  Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline

  • Minimum of 4 years’ relevant hands-on experience in microwave planning or a similar transmission role

  • Strong knowledge of microwave transmission principles, tools, and technologies

  • Experience with network planning and optimization tools

  • Relevant professional or technical certifications will be an added advantage

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, technical environment
