Position Summary
GIZ Ghana is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Migration Partnership Advisor to support the implementation of migration and labour mobility initiatives under the GSP project and related legal migration programmes.
The successful candidate will contribute to project planning, stakeholder engagement, partnership coordination, communication, and monitoring activities while supporting the effective implementation of migration-focused interventions in Ghana.
This role requires strong project coordination skills, stakeholder management capabilities, and knowledge of migration, employment, and development-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Implementation
- Support project planning, concept development, and implementation activities for the GSP project and other legal labour migration initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of operational plans, project strategies, and implementation frameworks.
- Ensure effective execution of assigned project activities in alignment with programme objectives and timelines.
Stakeholder Coordination & Partnership Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for beneficiaries and implementing partner organizations in Ghana.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with public institutions, private sector partners, and relevant stakeholders.
- Foster collaboration and networking among stakeholders involved in labour migration and legal pathway initiatives, including the YEA Work Abroad Programme.
Monitoring, Quality Management & Reporting
- Conduct impact monitoring and quality assurance activities to ensure effective implementation of project plans.
- Monitor project performance and document progress in close collaboration with partner institutions.
- Prepare project reports, updates, and technical inputs required by project management and GIZ headquarters.
- Support knowledge management, documentation, and reporting processes across project activities.
Communication & Technical Support
- Support the development and execution of communication materials, including translation support where necessary.
- Assist short-term experts and consultants assigned to project activities to ensure successful delivery of assignments.
- Develop practical strategies, technical concepts, guidelines, manuals, and operational procedures to support project implementation.
Research & Technical Advisory Support
- Provide technical input on migration, employment, reintegration, and labour mobility issues.
- Support research, analysis, and policy-related activities relevant to legal labour migration initiatives.
- Contribute to the identification of best practices and innovative approaches within migration and development programmes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Health Services, Public Policy, International Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of four (4) years’ professional experience in international development, project management, social work, migration programming, public policy, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of regular labour migration systems in Ghana, particularly in the areas of Migration and Development, Reintegration, and Employment.
- Experience within health services, health policy, or labour migration in the health sector will be a strong advantage.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- German language proficiency will be an added advantage.
