Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Mine Captain to lead underground mining operations during assigned shifts. The successful candidate will supervise mining crews, ensure compliance with approved mine plans and statutory regulations, and drive safe, efficient, and productive mining operations while maintaining the highest operational and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise underground mining operations during assigned shifts.
• Ensure mining activities are executed in accordance with approved mine plans and operational schedules.
• Supervise underground mining crews and ensure compliance with company safety policies and statutory mining regulations.
• Monitor daily production performance and investigate operational variances to improve efficiency.
• Ensure the effective utilization of mining equipment, personnel, and operational resources.
• Coordinate shift activities to maximize productivity while maintaining the highest safety standards.
• Identify operational challenges and implement practical solutions to improve performance.
• Prepare and submit accurate shift production and operational reports.
• Promote safe work practices and ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the mining team.
• Perform any other duties assigned to support the achievement of departmental and organizational objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Mining Engineering.
• Shift Boss Certificate of Competency.
• Mine Captain Certificate of Competency.
• A minimum of five (5) years of underground mining experience in a similar supervisory role.
