Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Nurse Manager (Principal Midwifery Officer) to lead and oversee midwifery and nursing services at our Cape Coast facility. The ideal candidate will actively manage clinical operations, mentor staff, and ensure the delivery of high-quality sexual and reproductive health services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise midwifery and nursing staff to ensure professional and ethical healthcare delivery.
  • Oversee clinical operations, including patient care, documentation, and compliance with health standards.
  • Develop and implement protocols, guidelines, and best practices for midwifery and nursing services.
  • Mentor, train, and support staff to strengthen their competencies and professional growth.
  • Monitor and evaluate service delivery, ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to organizational policies.
  • Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to enhance integrated health services.
  • Travel at short notice to support program activities, outreach, or supervision as required.
  • Prepare reports and provide regular updates to senior management.

Requirements

  • Registered Midwife with a relevant degree.
  • Additional higher qualification in a related field is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in midwifery, nursing, or sexual and reproductive health.
  • Ability and willingness to travel at short notice.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights.
