Job Summary

Obaatan Pa Women’s Hospital seeks a skilled and dedicated Perioperative Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care in the theatre setting. The successful candidate actively supports surgical teams, ensures patient safety, and maintains a well-organized perioperative environment. Applicants must reside in Accra.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the operating theatre for surgical procedures

  • Assist surgeons and anesthetists during operations

  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond promptly to changes in condition

  • Ensure strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols

  • Maintain accurate records of perioperative care and procedures

  • Manage surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies efficiently

  • Provide post-operative care and patient education as required

  • Collaborate effectively with surgical, nursing, and support teams

  • Uphold patient confidentiality and professional nursing standards

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing

  • Post-basic qualification in Perioperative / Theatre Nursing

  • Valid Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) license

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in perioperative or theatre nursing

  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of perioperative procedures

  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills

  • Commitment to patient safety, ethics, and professional standards

Location Requirement

  • This role is based in East Legon, Accra

  • Applicants must reside in Accra or be readily available to work from this location
