Position Summary
Wellgiant Pharmaceuticals Limited is seeking a qualified and patient-focused Pharmacist to oversee pharmacy operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote the highest standards of pharmaceutical care.
The successful candidate will play a key role in safeguarding medication quality, supporting pharmacy teams, maintaining regulatory standards, and enhancing patient safety through effective pharmacy management and professional practice.
This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, legal, and professional pharmacy requirements.
- Oversee the proper storage, handling, and disposal of medicines in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of controlled substances and ensure their safe custody and security.
- Monitor pharmacy operations to ensure adherence to Pharmacy Council regulations and company policies.
- Support regulatory inspections and ensure all documentation remains current and compliant.
Pharmacy Operations
- Supervise daily pharmacy activities to ensure efficient service delivery and operational excellence.
- Promote safe dispensing practices and support the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care.
- Monitor inventory levels and support effective stock management processes.
- Utilize pharmacy information systems and ERP platforms to maintain accurate records and reporting.
Supervision and Training
- Provide leadership and oversight for Pharmacy Technicians and Medicine Counter Assistants (MCAs).
- Ensure team members comply with pharmacy procedures, operational standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support staff development through coaching, training, and continuous performance improvement initiatives.
- Foster a collaborative and professional working environment focused on patient care and service excellence.
Quality Assurance
- Implement and maintain quality assurance protocols to enhance pharmacy operations and patient safety.
- Monitor pharmacy processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure accuracy in dispensing, documentation, and inventory management activities.
- Contribute to initiatives that improve operational efficiency and service quality across pharmacy branches.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration and practicing license with the Pharmacy Council of Ghana.
- Membership with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana is required.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a retail pharmacy environment, preferably within a multi-branch operation.
- Experience using ERP systems and pharmacy information management systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
