The Governing Council invites applications from qualified, visionary, and experienced academic leaders for the position of Principal.

Role Overview

The Principal serves as the Chief Academic and Administrative Officer of the College and provides strategic leadership to advance the institution’s mission, academic standards, and institutional growth. The role requires a distinguished scholar with strong leadership capacity, sound judgment, and a collaborative management style.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, academic, and administrative leadership for the College

• Drive the implementation of the College’s vision, mission, and strategic plans

• Promote excellence in teaching, learning, research, and professional practice

• Ensure effective governance, financial management, and institutional accountability

• Foster staff development, mentorship, and a culture of collaboration

• Strengthen partnerships with regulatory bodies, universities, and stakeholders

• Represent the College nationally and internationally with professionalism and integrity

• Ensure compliance with policies of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) and other relevant authorities.

  Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  Applicants must:

  • Be a distinguished scholar and a master teacher

  • Hold a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or equivalent qualification in a relevant area of specialization

  • Be of a rank not below Associate Professor in a College of Education, university, or analogous institution

  • Have at least 10 years of progressive experience in teaching and/or research

  • Possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior management or leadership role

  • Demonstrate proven leadership skills, strong administrative competence, and the ability to work effectively as a team player.

    Terms of Appointment

    • Applicants must not be more than 55 years of age at the time of application

    • The appointment shall be for an initial term of four (4) years

    • The appointment may be renewed for one additional term only, subject to satisfactory performance

    • Salaries and conditions of service are attractive and comparable to similar positions in Ghana.
