Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Project Manager to lead the successful execution of a 161kV Transmission Line and Substation Relocation Project. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure project delivery within approved scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Job Purpose
The Project Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, execution, monitoring, and completion of the transmission line and substation relocation project while ensuring compliance with technical specifications, regulatory standards, and stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all project planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out activities
- Develop and implement project management plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and stakeholder activities across the project lifecycle
- Manage contractual obligations and ensure compliance with client specifications and regulatory requirements
- Interface effectively with utility operators, regulatory agencies, contractors, consultants, and community stakeholders
- Monitor project progress against approved schedules and implement corrective actions where necessary
- Ensure timely procurement and delivery of project materials and equipment
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, opportunities, and mitigation plans
- Chair project meetings and prepare regular progress reports for management and stakeholders
- Oversee quality assurance, safety performance, and environmental compliance throughout project execution
- Manage project change requests, claims, and contract administration processes
- Ensure successful testing, commissioning, energization, and handover of relocated transmission and substation facilities
- Maintain strong stakeholder communication and resolve conflicts professionally and efficiently
Qualification Requirements
- MSc in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Professional Project Management certification (PMP mandatory)
- Minimum of 10 yearsโ experience in power transmission and substation projects
- At least 5 yearsโ experience in a project management role
- Demonstrated experience managing high-voltage transmission line and substation construction or relocation projects (132kVโ330kV preferred)
- Strong knowledge of international engineering standards including IEC, IEEE, ISO, NEC, and utility standards
