Job Purpose

The Quality Manager ensures full compliance with Ghana Civil Aviation Directives, company quality standards, and safety requirements through the effective administration and continuous improvement of internal and external audit surveillance programs. The role primarily oversees quality assurance activities within the IOSA disciplines of Maintenance (MNT), Ground Handling (GRH), and Cargo/Security (CGO/SEC).


Key Responsibilities

The Quality Manager will:

  • Ensure compliance with all Ghana Civil Aviation Directives, company quality standards, and safety requirements.

  • Administer, audit, and continuously improve internal and external audit surveillance programs across all AWA facilities.

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor comprehensive audit plans and activities.

  • Direct and supervise the activities of Quality Assurance Auditors to ensure adherence to audit surveillance program requirements.

  • Issue internal and external corrective action requests in a timely manner and ensure effective follow-up and closure.

  • Monitor and continuously improve AWA’s Supplier Approval Program.

  • Compile, analyze, and report quality trend data to the Head of Quality at required intervals.

  • Provide strategic input to the Head of Quality on system enhancements and procedural improvements.

  • Assist in coordinating and participating in regulatory audits and company oversight activities.

  • Collaborate with Maintenance & Engineering teams to enhance policies, procedures, and operational practices.

  • Direct Technical Library and Centralized Document Control activities to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct incident and accident investigations when required.

  • Monitor Air Safety reports and investigations and recommend corrective or preventive actions.

  • Deputize for the Head of Quality when delegated.

  • Perform any other duties assigned to maintain operational efficiency within the department.


Educational & Professional Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (required).

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in aviation.

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in at least two (2) relevant IOSA disciplines.

  • Certification in Airline Auditor Training (AAT) or a similar course.

  • Certification in IOSA Auditor and Quality Management Systems (QMS) Training.

  • Demonstrated aviation auditing experience.

  • Proven experience in audit processes, including identifying improvement areas, briefing senior management and program managers, and sharing best practices.
