We are seeking a highly motivated Regional Logistics Officer to join our team in Sunyani. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient and reliable supply chain operations that support public health programs in the Bono Region and beyond.


Position Summary

The Regional Logistics Officer leads and supports end-to-end supply chain and logistics activities at the regional level. The officer ensures effective order management, inventory control, warehousing, and distribution of health commodities in alignment with Ghana’s Public Health Value Chain and Chemonics’ operational standards.

The role requires strong coordination skills, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including government counterparts, implementing partners, and internal teams.


Key Responsibilities

The Regional Logistics Officer will:

  • Manage regional logistics and supply chain operations, including order processing, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution of health commodities.

  • Coordinate timely receipt, storage, and distribution of products to ensure uninterrupted availability at service delivery points.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure regular stock monitoring, reconciliation, and reporting.

  • Analyze supply chain data to identify gaps, trends, and opportunities for improvement, and prepare clear reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.

  • Support compliance with national policies, donor requirements, and Chemonics’ standard operating procedures.

  • Collaborate closely with regional health authorities and partners to strengthen public health supply chain systems.

  • Lead and participate in meetings, trainings, and coordination forums at the regional level.

  • Support the adoption and use of new and fast-evolving supply chain technologies and information systems.

  • Provide technical support and mentorship to relevant staff and partners as needed.

  • Work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines and respond to urgent logistics needs.


Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ professional experience in supply chain management, including:

    • Order management

    • Inventory management

    • Warehousing and storage

    • Product distribution

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong data analysis, reporting, and presentation skills.

  • Good understanding of Ghana’s Public Health Value Chain.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead meetings and engage stakeholders effectively.

  • Strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and service-oriented mindset.

  • High level of resourcefulness and a demonstrated desire to support and help others.

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.

  • Willingness and ability to learn and support new and fast-changing technologies.

  • Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
