Role Summary

The Risk Officer will support the effective identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation of risks across the institution. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, strengthens internal controls, and supports a strong risk management culture across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and control reviews across business operations
• Monitor key risk indicators and prepare timely and accurate risk reports
• Support loan portfolio monitoring and early warning systems for potential credit risks
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk management policies
• Investigate risk incidents and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions
• Support risk awareness and compliance training programs for staff
• Liaise with internal and external auditors, as well as regulatory bodies, when required

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Risk Management, Banking & Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
• Professional certifications such as ACCA, ICA, or CIB will be an added advantage
• Strong practical knowledge of credit risk and operational risk management principles
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in risk management, compliance, or internal audit
