Position Summary

Matrix Agroscience is seeking a proactive, energetic, and results-driven Sales Agronomist to lead field sales activities, provide technical agronomic support, and drive business growth across assigned markets.

The successful candidate will execute sales strategies, build strong customer relationships, and provide agronomic guidance that supports sustainable and profitable farming practices. This role requires strong field presence, technical agricultural knowledge, and a passion for customer engagement and sales excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and improve market share.
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing plans to grow customer base and profitability.
  • Evaluate customer needs and identify opportunities for product adoption and business expansion.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with farmers, distributors, and agricultural partners.
  • Provide agronomic advice and technical support to farmers and farmer groups.
  • Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and field training sessions.
  • Prepare sales proposals, contracts, bids, and related documentation to support successful transactions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in the agrochemical supply chain to enhance product visibility and distribution efficiency.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Lead assigned sales projects and mentor junior sales team members where necessary.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of company products and apply this knowledge in customer engagements.
  • Promote and uphold safety standards in all field activities and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Contribute to building trust and credibility with customers through consistent service excellence.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, or Agronomy (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in sales, agronomy sales, business development, or related roles.
  • Proven experience in agronomy sales or agricultural field advisory roles is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of agricultural inputs, crop protection products, and farming systems.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Strong ability to develop and manage customer relationships effectively.
  • Highly motivated, target-driven, and results-oriented with a proven sales track record.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in field environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
