Job Summary

The Senior Civil Engineer will oversee and implement technical aspects of construction projects, ensuring compliance with design standards, safety policies, and project specifications. This role requires proactive leadership, technical expertise, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are executed efficiently and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement approved strategies, plans, SOPs, and control systems to facilitate construction activities.
• Enforce health and safety policies on construction sites to ensure full compliance.
• Coordinate with surveyors and architects to confirm technical specifications and prepare engineering designs for approval.
• Work with surveyors to lay out installations, establish reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction works.
• Review project concepts, architectural drawings, and models, reporting findings to support project designs.
• Conduct research to identify appropriate building materials and recommend solutions for proposed projects.
• Participate in estimating material quantities, equipment, labor, and other project resources.
• Vet construction design reports from consultants and contractors to identify potential risks and challenges.
• Conduct site investigations to verify feasibility, identify key variables, and propose necessary adjustments.
• Stay updated on modern construction methods, techniques, and tools to enhance project outcomes.
• Conduct market surveys to identify potential contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Gather and prepare data for tender and bid documents for civil engineering and construction works.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Membership of a recognized professional body.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering or construction roles.
