The Engineering Department of Damang Gold Mine is seeking to employ an experienced and results-driven individual to coordinate Light Vehicle and Support Equipment Maintenance activities. The incumbent will ensure the effective management of Light Vehicle, HME Support equipment and Dewatering Pumps are under controlled operational cost and safe conditions. He/She will also be responsible for high equipment availability and performance, increased productivity, equipment reliability and operational profitability.

About role:

• Ensuring that light vehicle, Dewatering Pumps and other ancillary equipment are maintained and positioned in line with operational requirements and objectives
• Coordinating, managing and directing the activities of the maintenance support service team
• Ensuring the achievement of high equipment availability and reliability within industry             standards
• Implementing effective cost management and financial performance monitoring systems
• Ensuring that effective maintenance standards and procedures are developed and   implemented in compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Management Systems
• Maintaining a safe and friendly environment
• Ensuring that staff are effectively trained, developed, and supervised

About you:

• A tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution
• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in LV and Support Equipment Maintenance
• Leadership in managing light vehicles, cranes, dewatering pumps and other ancillary equipment maintenance function
• Experienced in safe lifting practices
•   Must hold a minimum of Section Engineer’s certificate of competency from MINCOM
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact with people of diverse cultures and levels
• Strong analytical, interpersonal and organisational skills
• Have a hands-on approach and be willing to work long hours to obtain the required results
• Ability to meet diverse engineering challenges
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Medical fitness for the position and environment
• A valid Ghanaian driver’s license and proficiency in driving light vehicles
