Role Overview

The Senior Engineer – Reliability actively leads reliability and asset management initiatives to improve equipment performance, availability, and lifecycle value across the Tarkwa Mine. The role provides technical leadership, drives continuous improvement, and partners with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and implement reliability and asset management strategies across mining operations

• Drive equipment performance improvement through reliability analysis and continuous improvement initiatives

• Apply root cause analysis and diagnostic tools to identify failure trends and eliminate repeat failures

• Support maintenance planning, work management, and lifecycle asset optimization

• Supervise and mentor reliability and engineering teams, promoting a strong safety and performance culture

• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, including L.I. 2182 of 2012

• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and supply chain teams to improve asset availability and cost efficiency

• Utilize SAP, project scheduling tools, and engineering systems for planning, tracking, and reporting

• Prepare technical reports and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders at all levels

• Champion safety, quality, and environmental standards across all engineering activities

Educational Requirements & Experience

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized institution

• Minimum of eight (8) years’ engineering experience, including at least three (3) years’ supervisory experience in Reliability or Asset Management within a mining environment

• Sectional Engineer’s Certification from the Inspectorate Division of the Minerals Commission

• Strong knowledge of the provisions and applicable regulations of L.I. 2182 of 2012

• Advanced degrees or certifications in reliability engineering or related fields are an advantage

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with hands-on experience using root cause and diagnostic tools

• Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, and project scheduling tools

• Solid understanding of work management and maintenance best practices

• Energetic self-starter with a hands-on leadership approach and strong team orientation

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels

• Medically fit for the role

• Valid Ghanaian driving license with proven ability to drive a light vehicle
