POSITION: Senior Environmental Officer – Closure

As part of its mine closure and rehabilitation strategy, the Company seeks a highly competent professional to strengthen its environmental management team.

ROLE PURPOSE

The Senior Environmental Officer – Closure will lead and coordinate environmental closure activities to ensure regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and sustainable post-mining land use. The role supports the Company’s commitment to environmental protection, occupational health and safety, and continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Environmental Officer – Closure will:

• Plan, implement, and monitor mine closure and rehabilitation programs

• Ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, permits, and company policies

• Coordinate environmental monitoring, reporting, and auditing activities

• Apply and maintain Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems in line with ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018

• Identify environmental risks and implement effective mitigation and corrective actions

• Liaise with regulatory bodies, consultants, and internal stakeholders on closure-related matters

• Prepare technical reports, closure plans, and regulatory submissions

• Supervise contractors and support teams engaged in closure activities

• Promote environmental awareness and best practices across site operations

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must:

• Hold an HND, BTech, or BSc in Engineering, Environmental Science, Biological Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related discipline

• Demonstrate sound knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 management systems

• Possess a valid Ghanaian DVLA Driver’s License (Class B or C)

• Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications

• Show strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills

• Demonstrate the ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams

• Have prior experience in mining or industrial environments, which will be an advantage
