Position Summary

MTN Ghana is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager, Data & Devices to lead the development and execution of data and device strategies that drive customer value, revenue growth, and market leadership. The successful candidate will oversee device portfolio management, strategic partnerships, customer adoption initiatives, and commercial performance while ensuring sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute an end-to-end data and device lifecycle strategy that maximizes business value and enhances customer experience.
  • Build strategic partnerships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), technology partners, and digital ecosystem players.
  • Champion customer-centric and data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Provide strategic input into pricing frameworks, device bundles, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Identify emerging technologies and integrate relevant innovations into MTN’s product and service offerings.
  • Drive initiatives that strengthen MTN’s competitive position in the data and device market.

Operational Excellence

  • Lead the design, management, and execution of the device portfolio strategy.
  • Collaborate with Customer Value Management (CVM) and Commercial teams to conduct market research and translate insights into product opportunities.
  • Drive the development of customer-focused campaigns aligned with MTN’s value propositions.
  • Monitor the performance of the Data & Devices business unit and ensure achievement of strategic objectives.
  • Manage vendor relationships and optimize supply chain and distribution operations.
  • Ensure efficient execution of device-related initiatives across business channels.

Financial Performance

  • Develop innovative device financing solutions that improve smartphone affordability and customer adoption.
  • Drive initiatives that increase device penetration, customer loyalty, and revenue growth.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance indicators to support EBITDA growth.
  • Identify opportunities for volume-based procurement and negotiate competitive pricing with partners.
  • Optimize cost structures while maintaining sustainable profitability.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Provide strategic guidance on governance standards and best practices in device management and customer experience.
  • Ensure compliance with information security policies and business governance requirements.
  • Develop contingency plans to manage market disruptions and performance challenges.
  • Establish analytics frameworks and decision-making models to support effective risk management.
  • Monitor compliance with business risk, regulatory, and reputation management standards.
  • Promote continuous improvement across processes and operational practices.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional marketing certification or postgraduate qualification in Business, Commercial Management, or a related discipline will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Data & Devices Management or a related commercial technology function.
  • At least 5 years’ experience at a managerial level with significant exposure to data and device management.
  • Proven experience in strategic partnership management, marketing management, market research, sales, and channel management.
  • Experience managing technology partnerships and OEM relationships at a leadership level is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications, digital products, customer lifecycle management, and commercial strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and deliver business results.
