ROLE OVERVIEW

The Senior Metallurgist – Technical will oversee metallurgical processes, optimize gold recovery operations, and ensure compliance with technical and operational standards. The role requires strong technical expertise, analytical skills, and leadership in processing and metallurgical operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Metallurgist – Technical will:

• Manage and optimize metallurgical processes to maximize gold recovery and operational efficiency

• Provide technical leadership in the design, monitoring, and improvement of processing operations

• Conduct metallurgical test work and interpret results to inform operational decisions

• Ensure compliance with company, safety, and environmental standards in metallurgical operations

• Collaborate with mining, engineering, and maintenance teams to achieve operational targets

• Prepare technical reports, process documentation, and operational recommendations

• Train and mentor junior metallurgical staff to enhance team competency

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must:

• Hold a Degree or Diploma in Extractive Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field

• Possess a MINCOM Processing / Metallurgical Senior Officer Certificate

• Have a minimum of 6 years’ experience in metalliferous mining, including at least 4 years in gold processing

• Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills

• Show ability to lead metallurgical teams and drive process improvements

• Be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to operational excellence
