Position Summary
As the Social Studies & RME Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons that help learners develop critical thinking, civic responsibility, ethical values, and a deeper understanding of society and culture. You will create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic excellence, character development, and active participation.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Social Studies and Religious and Moral Education (RME) in accordance with the NaCCA curriculum.
- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and classroom activities that promote learner engagement and critical thinking.
- Assess learner performance through classwork, assignments, tests, and examinations, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, academic progress, and learner development.
- Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment that supports effective learning.
- Promote discipline, ethical behaviour, civic responsibility, respect, and positive values among learners.
- Encourage active participation, collaboration, and respectful discussion in the classroom.
- Build positive relationships with learners, parents, and colleagues to support academic and personal development.
- Participate in staff meetings, school programmes, parent engagement activities, and professional development initiatives.
- Perform any other duties that contribute to the effective delivery of quality education.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related discipline.
- Relevant teaching experience at the Junior High School level will be an advantage.
- Sound knowledge of the NaCCA curriculum and learner-centred teaching methodologies.
- Experience in lesson planning, learner assessment, and classroom management.
- Basic proficiency in using teaching aids and educational technology to enhance learning.
