About the Role

A reputable healthcare facility in Accra is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and patient-focused Sonographer to join its medical imaging team. The successful candidate will perform high-quality ultrasound examinations, support accurate diagnostic processes, and contribute to excellent patient care in a professional clinical environment.

In this role, you will work closely with medical practitioners to deliver reliable imaging results that support effective diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in line with clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and explain the imaging process clearly and professionally.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging.
  • Capture, analyze, and document imaging results for review by physicians.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of medical information.
  • Collaborate with doctors and healthcare professionals to support diagnosis and treatment plans.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards, infection control, and imaging best practices.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report any faults or maintenance needs.
  • Support continuous improvement in imaging services and patient care delivery.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • A Degree, HND, or Diploma in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Medical Imaging, Radiography, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of ultrasound imaging procedures and clinical protocols.
  • Good communication and patient-handling skills.
  • Ability to work accurately, calmly, and professionally in a clinical environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality diagnostic output.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Professional ethics, confidentiality, and patient care focus.
