As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a skilled and empathetic Sonographer to join our diagnostic imaging team and support the delivery of reliable ultrasound services.

Role Purpose

The Sonographer will perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations and produce high-quality imaging results to support accurate clinical diagnosis and patient care. The successful candidate will ensure patient safety and comfort while operating advanced ultrasound equipment and working closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnostic Imaging

• Perform a wide range of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, obstetric and gynecological, vascular, and small parts imaging.
• Operate ultrasound equipment safely and effectively to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
• Ensure accurate image acquisition and optimise scanning techniques based on clinical requirements.

Patient Care & Safety

• Ensure the comfort, dignity, and safety of all patients during ultrasound procedures.
• Explain procedures clearly to patients and respond to concerns with professionalism and empathy.
• Adhere strictly to infection prevention, safety, and radiation protection protocols.

Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain accurate and complete patient records in line with clinical standards and confidentiality requirements.
• Compile clear and detailed technical reports for review by interpreting physicians.
• Ensure timely documentation and proper management of imaging data.

Collaboration & Clinical Support

• Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to support accurate diagnosis and patient management.
• Communicate findings effectively within the clinical team to support treatment decisions.
• Participate in multidisciplinary discussions where required to enhance patient outcomes.

Equipment & Quality Assurance

• Ensure proper operation, calibration, and maintenance of ultrasound equipment.
• Report equipment faults promptly and support corrective maintenance processes.
• Follow quality assurance procedures to maintain high diagnostic imaging standards.

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies

Qualifications

• Certification or professional registration as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or equivalent qualification.

Experience

• Proven clinical experience performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations across multiple modalities.
• Experience in a hospital or medical imaging setting is required.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound imaging principles.
• Excellent technical and diagnostic imaging skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in imaging and reporting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong patient-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Strong commitment to professional ethics, patient confidentiality, and continuous learning.
