We are seeking an experienced Supervisor Mine Planning to support and lead open pit mine planning activities at our Ahafo operations.

Position Summary

The Supervisor Mine Planning leads day-to-day mine planning activities to support safe, efficient, and optimized open pit mining operations. The role ensures mine designs, schedules, and plans align with operational targets, safety standards, and long-term mine strategy.

The Supervisor Mine Planning works closely with operations, geology, and technical services teams to deliver practical and executable mine plans.

Key Responsibilities

The Supervisor Mine Planning will:

• Supervise and coordinate open pit mine planning activities in line with production targets and safety requirements.

• Develop and review short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans, designs, and schedules.

• Ensure mine designs comply with geotechnical, operational, and regulatory requirements.

• Support optimization of pit designs, haul roads, waste dumps, and stockpiles.

• Collaborate with geology teams to integrate geological models into mine planning outputs.

• Work closely with mine operations to ensure plans are practical, achievable, and safe.

• Monitor plan execution and recommend adjustments to address operational changes.

• Support reconciliation, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with Newmont’s safety, environmental, and operational standards.

• Mentor and support junior mine planning personnel as required.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education and Certification

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or Geomatic Engineering.

• MSc in Mining Engineering is required for candidates with a BSc in Geological or Geomatic Engineering.

• Minimum Mine Foreman Certification (MINCOM) is required.

Professional Experience

• Minimum of 7–8 years’ experience in large-scale surface mining operations.

• Demonstrated expertise in open pit mine planning and design.

Technical Skills and Competencies

• Strong understanding of open pit mining methods, design criteria, and planning principles.

• Experience with mine planning and design software used in large-scale surface mining.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

• Strong communication and leadership skills.

• High commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
