We are seeking a passionate, organised, and supportive Teaching Assistant (Primary Department – Sociology) to join our academic team. The successful candidate will work closely with classroom teachers to support Sociology and social studies learning, encourage students to understand society and human relationships, and create engaging learning experiences that develop awareness, empathy, and critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities
As the Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support the Primary Sociology teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum.
- Assist in preparing lesson resources, classroom materials, activities, and learning projects.
- Support students in exploring topics related to society, culture, communities, relationships, and social responsibility.
- Encourage learners to develop critical thinking, communication skills, and awareness of social issues.
- Assist students during classroom discussions, group activities, presentations, and research projects.
- Provide additional learning support to students who require guidance with Sociology and social concepts.
- Help create an inclusive, respectful, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Support classroom management and promote positive student behaviour.
- Assist the lead teacher in monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate learning records.
- Provide feedback on student participation, learning needs, and areas requiring further support.
- Use digital resources and educational technology to enhance Sociology lessons.
- Support school projects, community awareness activities, and academic programmes when required.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Diploma in Education or a related education qualification.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ teaching or classroom support experience within the relevant curriculum.
- Knowledge and understanding of Sociology, social studies, or related subjects at the primary level.
- Experience supporting young learners in an international or multicultural school environment will be an advantage.
- Strong computer literacy and confidence using educational technology and Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of child-centred learning approaches and effective classroom support strategies.
