Key Responsibilities
As the Video Editor & MCR Operator, you will:
- Edit high-quality video content for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, and other digital platforms.
- Operate the Master Control Room (MCR) to ensure seamless execution of live radio and video broadcasts.
- Manage live streaming productions using OBS Studio, vMix, or similar broadcasting software.
- Support multi-camera productions, live events, interviews, and outside broadcasts.
- Create engaging promotional videos, highlight reels, shorts, trailers, and social media content.
- Enhance video productions with graphics, subtitles, animations, transitions, colour correction, and audio improvements.
- Ensure all video and broadcast content meets the organisation’s quality and brand standards.
- Monitor broadcast signals and troubleshoot technical issues during live productions to minimise disruptions.
- Collaborate with presenters, producers, content creators, and technical teams to deliver compelling multimedia content.
- Organise and maintain video assets, production files, and media archives efficiently.
- Stay current with emerging video production techniques, editing trends, and broadcasting technologies.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Multimedia, Film Production, Media Studies, Broadcasting, Television Production, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in video editing and broadcast production within a media or digital content environment.
- Hands-on experience operating Master Control Room (MCR) systems or supporting live broadcast operations is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience producing content for digital and social media platforms.
Skills and Competencies
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent professional editing software.
- Practical experience using OBS Studio, vMix, or similar live streaming and broadcast software.
- Sound understanding of video production, audio production, encoding, and broadcast workflows.
- Excellent creativity with strong visual storytelling and editing skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing polished, high-quality content.
- The ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure during live broadcasts.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet tight production deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays when production schedules require.
Desirable Skills
The following will be an added advantage:
- Photography or videography experience.
- Motion graphics and animation skills using Adobe After Effects or similar software.
- Audio editing and sound design experience.
- Previous experience in radio, television, or digital broadcasting environments.
- Knowledge of live production workflows and streaming technologies.
- Familiarity with content optimisation for social media platforms.
