The Embassy supports individuals and businesses engaging with Denmark and the Nordic region while ensuring professional and efficient visa processing services.

The Embassy is currently recruiting positive, proactive, and service-oriented professionals to join its team as Visa Officers. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills, high integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a structured and multicultural environment.

The role involves processing visa applications for travel to Denmark, Finland, Iceland, and Sweden.


Position Summary

The Visa Officer will manage visa and consular-related applications while ensuring accurate documentation, efficient processing, and professional communication with applicants and relevant authorities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and review visa applications, including all supporting documentation

  • Process and register applications using electronic visa management systems

  • Conduct interviews with visa applicants when required

  • Communicate with applicants, the VFS Global Visa Application Centre, the Danish Immigration Service, and relevant Danish and international organizations

  • Respond to inquiries regarding visa applications, residence permits, and work permits

  • Process passport-related applications and capture bio-metric data

  • Maintain and update passport records and registries

  • Conduct attestation and verification of official documents


Qualifications

  • Relevant higher education qualification and professional experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (knowledge of French is an advantage)

  • Previous experience in visa, immigration, or consular services is preferred

  • High level of integrity, sound judgement, and professionalism

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work effectively as a team player

  • Strong sense of responsibility and accountability

  • Dual nationality (Ghanaian/Scandinavian/EU) is considered an advantage


Employment Conditions

  • Full-time contract (40 hours per week) under local employment terms

  • Five (5) weeks of paid annual leave with a flexible work scheme

  • Mutual probation period of three (3) months

  • Salary based on the Embassy’s fixed salary scale and the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience

  • Health care insurance for the employee and eligible dependents

  • Employment is subject to security clearance by Danish authorities, including the submission of a No Criminal Record certificate
