Role Overview

We are seeking a results-driven and strategic Business Development Manager to lead and expand the University’s enterprise initiatives, particularly in agribusiness and academic ventures. The successful candidate will combine strong leadership, financial acumen, and innovative thinking to drive growth, partnerships, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of business strategies that enhance institutional growth and profitability.

• Identify, evaluate, and develop new enterprise and agribusiness opportunities aligned with the University’s vision.

• Manage multi-site operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and consistent performance across all ventures.

• Provide strategic oversight of budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control measures.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including academic staff, industry partners, and community leaders.

• Mentor and develop staff, fostering a results-oriented and collaborative work culture.

• Monitor project progress, solve operational challenges, and ensure timely delivery of objectives.

• Uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Agribusiness, Agriculture, Economics, or a related field.

• Minimum of 7 years’ post-qualification experience in enterprise development, agribusiness management, or related areas, with a proven track record of leading successful ventures.

• Strong leadership, organizational, administrative, problem-solving, and project management skills.

• Results-oriented with high emotional intelligence.

• Demonstrated experience in financial management, including budgeting, reporting, and cost control.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

• Experience in an academic or multi-site institutional environment is an advantage.

• High sense of integrity and ethical standards.
