Position Overview

We are seeking two highly skilled Area Managers – Mining Services to join our team in Tarkwa. The successful candidates will lead and oversee mining operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and strategic growth in both open-pit and underground mining environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage mining operations in compliance with industry standards and AECI policies.

• Implement Drill and Blast operations, ensuring optimal blast performance and safety.

• Oversee underground and open-pit mining activities in hazardous environments.

• Select and monitor mining equipment to maximize operational efficiency.

• Apply mine planning and operational knowledge to meet production targets.

• Maintain in-depth knowledge of AECI products, facilities, structure, and markets.

• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry regulations.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Drive financial performance and strategic initiatives within the area of responsibility.

• Provide leadership, problem-solving, and team development to achieve operational excellence.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Minimum University degree or equivalent in a technical field, preferably Mining Engineering.

• Experience: At least 10 years in open-pit and/or underground mining operations at middle-management level.

• Professional: Statutory or professional qualification as an explosives engineer (or equivalent).

• Knowledge & Skills:

  • Blast performance assessment techniques and associated equipment

  • Underground mining operations and hazardous work environments

  • Mine planning and operational management

  • Mining equipment selection and performance optimization

  • Financial and strategic management practices

  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel) and mining-related software

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

  • Customer relationship management and sales experience
