Role Purpose

The Senior Purchasing Officer will lead and manage procurement activities to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and compliant acquisition of goods and services. The role requires strong expertise in supplier negotiations, contract management, and procurement planning within a mining or heavy industry environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement processes, including sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and supplier selection.

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with operational requirements and cost optimization goals.

• Negotiate contracts and service level agreements to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks.

• Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.

• Oversee procurement planning to support uninterrupted mining operations.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical procurement standards.

• Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and deliver effective solutions.

• Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting systems.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in mining or heavy industry.

• Proven experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, and procurement planning.

• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex operational environment.

• Valid driver’s license with the ability to drive an SUV.
