Role Overview

The Compliance & Projects Officer will ensure strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental (SHE) standards while supporting project execution within mining operations. You will lead compliance monitoring, risk management, and safety assurance activities while driving continuous improvement in operational safety systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with SHE policies, mining regulations, and company standards
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend appropriate mitigation measures
• Monitor and enforce compliance with Minerals and Mining Regulations (L.I. 2177 and L.I. 2182)
• Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 18001 management systems
• Lead and participate in safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations
• Oversee compliance in blasting operations and safety-critical activities
• Prepare detailed SHE and compliance reports for management review
• Support project planning and execution from a safety and compliance perspective
• Ensure timely follow-up on corrective and preventive actions
• Promote a strong safety culture across all operational areas

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Sciences, Health & Safety Engineering, or a related field
• At least 5 years of SHE experience in mining, explosives, or manufacturing at supervisory or middle-management level
• Professional qualification in Occupational Safety or Health (NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent)
• Certificate of competence in blasting and HSE Supervision
• Strong knowledge of Minerals and Mining Regulations (L.I. 2177 & L.I. 2182)
• Experience with ISO 18001 management systems
• Valid Ghanaian Driving License (Class C)
• Strong computer skills, particularly MS Word and Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and report writing abilities
