Role Overview
AGBL is seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Mechanical Technician – Rebuild to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will lead and execute the overhaul, rebuilding, and repair of critical process plant equipment, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and execute the overhaul, rebuilding, and repair of process plant mechanical equipment, including pumps, gearboxes, valves, and bearing installations.
- Diagnose complex mechanical faults and determine appropriate repair methods and scope of work.
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to guide maintenance and repair activities.
- Inspect, test, and adjust equipment following repairs to ensure compliance with operational and performance standards.
- Adhere strictly to AGBL’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and demonstrate strong safety leadership.
- Promote and comply with AGBL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) standards and guidelines.
- Actively support continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance operations.
- Train and mentor team members, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge, and tools to perform their duties safely and effectively.
- Monitor work activities to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards, and report any deviations.
- Support incident and accident investigations and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in support of operational objectives.
Education, Experience & Key Competencies
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisory role, preferably within a metallurgical or mineral processing plant environment.
- Demonstrated experience in equipment rebuilding, fabrication, assembly, and disassembly.
- Valid Mechanical Technician Certificate of Competency issued by the Minerals Commission of Ghana.
- Strong knowledge of risk management and loss prevention practices.
- Proven experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and sound understanding of asset management principles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in multicultural teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical data and make informed decisions.
