Role Purpose

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Officer to strengthen data systems and support evidence-based programme delivery. You will actively design data tools, manage data collection processes, analyze results, and drive learning to improve programme impact.

Key Responsibilities

You will actively:

• Design and implement monitoring and evaluation systems aligned with programme objectives
• Develop and manage data collection tools and methodologies
• Programme digital data collection tools using platforms such as ODK, Kobo Collect, SurveyCTO, or CommCare
• Oversee and support data collection activities, including managing enumerators
• Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to generate actionable insights
• Prepare high-quality reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with M&E standards
• Support the development and use of logframes, theories of change (ToCs), and results frameworks
• Train and build capacity of staff and partners on M&E tools and processes
• Support learning initiatives by documenting lessons learned and best practices
• Collaborate with programme teams to improve performance and impact

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Statistics, Public Health, Development Studies, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an M&E role within the NGO or development sector
• Proven experience in designing data collection tools, analyzing data, and reporting findings
• Experience managing data collectors or enumerators
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SPSS, STATA, or R
• Experience with mobile data collection platforms (ODK, Kobo Collect, SurveyCTO, CommCare, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of M&E frameworks, including logframes and theories of change
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent writing and reporting skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Willingness to travel frequently (approximately 50%) to project sites

Additional Information

• Location includes Osino and Tamale, with approximately 50% travel to field locations
• A three-month probation period will include agreed learning and performance objectives
• Expected start date: 1 May 2026
