Role Overview

The Survey Assistant will support mine surveying activities by assisting in field data collection, setting out, and measurement tasks. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and motivated individual who is eager to contribute to accurate surveying operations within a dynamic mining environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting daily pit face pick-ups and staking TBMs across mining faces
  • Support the setting out of pit designs and ore mark-outs as required
  • Assist in setting out and picking up survey points for geology exploration and RC grade control drilling
  • Support stockpile surveys as needed
  • Assist with farm surveys and line-cutting projects
  • Set out ground control points for drone (UAV) survey operations

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Certificate in Surveying or a related discipline from a recognized institution
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in mine surveying or a similar environment

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency in the use of surveying equipment, including total stations and GPS
  • Basic knowledge of UAV (drone) operations and mining survey practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Access
  • Good data management and record-keeping skills
  • High level of energy, self-motivation, and organizational ability
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate light vehicles
