Job Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and motivated professional to join our Investment Management Department as Officer I, Custodians and Trustees. The successful candidate will support regulatory oversight, compliance monitoring, inspections, stakeholder engagement, and policy implementation relating to custodians and trustees within Ghana’s capital market industry.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, communication, and regulatory review skills with the ability to work effectively within a professional and fast-paced regulatory environment.

Major Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of regulatory standards and guidelines for Custodians and Trustees.
  • Assist with onsite and offsite inspections, prepare inspection reports, and communicate findings and recommendations to market operators in a timely manner.
  • Monitor compliance through the review of statutory returns and other regulatory submissions submitted by Custodians and Trustees.
  • Assist in preparing sanction and remedial action letters relating to identified non-compliance matters.
  • Provide regulatory and administrative support to internal and external stakeholders of the Commission.
  • Contribute inputs to departmental and management reports within the Unit.
  • Support the handling and resolution of complaints relating to custodial and trustee services.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to correspondence, enquiries, and requests for clarification from market operators and stakeholders.
  • Represent the Commission at stakeholder meetings, workshops, and industry engagements, and prepare post-engagement reports for Management.
  • Provide support for project management activities undertaken within the Investment Management Department.
  • Assist with research, policy implementation, and operational improvement initiatives within the Unit.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the scope and objectives of the role as assigned from time to time.

Educational Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum of a First Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field from an accredited tertiary institution.
  • GISI/GSE Certification will be a strong advantage.
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ relevant working experience.

Competencies Required

  • Strong understanding of the capital market industry, legal framework, financial products and services, and the role of market participants.
  • Good understanding of emerging trends within the financial markets and investment management industry.
  • Strong analytical, research, and review skills.
  • Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related applications.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to accountability and regulatory excellence.
