Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly disciplined Assistant Mooring Master to join our offshore operations team in Accra on a full-time basis. You will support safe mooring and cargo transfer operations while ensuring compliance with marine safety procedures and international operational standards.

The successful candidate will actively contribute to vessel coordination, terminal support activities, and offshore operational safety within a dynamic maritime environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate safe mooring operations for offshore vessels and tankers
  • Assist in managing cargo transfer activities in compliance with marine operational procedures
  • Monitor vessel approach, berthing, and departure activities to ensure safe execution
  • Maintain effective communication with vessel masters, terminal operators, and tug crews
  • Ensure strict compliance with maritime safety regulations and company standards
  • Participate in operational planning, risk assessments, and safety briefings
  • Support emergency response activities and operational readiness exercises
  • Maintain accurate operational records and reporting documentation

Qualification Required & Experience

Candidates must possess the following qualifications and certifications:

  • Holder of IMO STCW 95 Deck Officer Class 1 (Chief Mate/Master) Certificate of Competence
  • Valid certification in Bridge Resource Management (BRM)
  • Certification in Oil Tanker Operations (STCW V/1.2)
  • Certificate of Proficiency in ARPA (Management) – Section A-II/1 & A-II/2
  • Certificate of Proficiency in ARPA (Operations) – Section A-II/1/Table A-II/1
  • Basic tug handling training with familiarity in terminal tug operations
  • Dangerous Goods by Sea certification
  • Valid Seaman’s Book
