Position Summary
The Ghana Railway Development Authority is seeking skilled and safety-conscious Electrical Technicians to support the maintenance and reliability of electrical systems and railway operational equipment. The successful candidates will play a key role in inspecting, troubleshooting, testing, and maintaining electrical systems while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and replace faulty electrical systems and components.
- Support electrical testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities across operational systems and equipment.
- Diagnose electrical faults and carry out corrective maintenance to minimize operational downtime.
- Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation to support maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, maintenance procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and inspection documentation.
- Support preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure efficient and safe system operations.
- Adhere to workplace health, safety, and environmental standards at all times.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma or Technician Part III Certificate in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of three (3) years relevant industrial experience in electrical maintenance or industrial operations.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, troubleshooting techniques, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical schematics.
- Good knowledge of electrical safety procedures and compliance standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a technical team environment.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
