Role Overview
The Mechanical Technician will support locomotive and railway equipment maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient railway operations. The successful candidate will carry out preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and support equipment repair and testing activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Service locomotive engines, braking systems, couplers, and other mechanical components.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities on railway equipment.
- Assist with equipment breakdown response, troubleshooting, testing, and repair works.
- Conduct inspections and identify faults in mechanical systems and components.
- Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and maintenance records accurately.
- Ensure compliance with railway maintenance procedures and workplace safety standards.
- Support operational efficiency by minimizing equipment downtime through effective maintenance practices.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within workshop and maintenance areas.
- Report maintenance issues, repair updates, and operational concerns promptly.
Qualifications & Experience
- Technician Part 3 Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ industrial experience in locomotive or heavy equipment maintenance.
- Experience working within railway, industrial, or heavy machinery environments is an advantage.
