Job Summary

The Haul Truck Operator will safely and efficiently operate heavy mining equipment within an active open pit mining environment. The successful candidate will support production targets, comply with safety standards, and contribute to maintaining efficient mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate haul trucks and other assigned heavy equipment safely and efficiently
• Follow operational procedures, safety regulations, and environmental standards at all times
• Conduct pre-operational inspections and report mechanical issues promptly
• Maintain effective communication using a two-way radio system
• Support production activities within the open pit mining operation
• Monitor equipment performance and ensure proper handling of machinery
• Read and understand operational documentation and safety instructions
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to achieve operational targets
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment
• Comply with Environmental Management System requirements and procedures

Educational Qualification

• Senior High School Certificate

Additional Knowledge & Requirements

• MINCOM Equipment Competency certification
• Valid License E
• General understanding of mining operations
• General knowledge of mid-to-heavy equipment operation

Experience

• Minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience operating Code E vehicles within a mining or heavy industry environment
• Experience working in an active open pit mine will be an advantage
