Position Summary
The Trainer – Process Maintenance (Mechanical) will deliver structured technical training in mechanical maintenance processes within mining operations. The successful candidate will develop workforce capability, enhance operational competence, and ensure adherence to maintenance standards, safety procedures, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver technical training in process maintenance and mechanical engineering within mining operations.
- Apply structured training methodologies to develop workforce competency.
- Guide employees through procedural maintenance tasks and operational standards.
- Assess trainee performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- Support continuous improvement in maintenance practices through training interventions.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, operational procedures, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate training records, assessments, and reports.
- Collaborate with operational and maintenance teams to align training with production needs.
- Support troubleshooting and problem-solving in mechanical maintenance environments.
- Promote a culture of safety, learning, and operational excellence.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
- Workplace Trainer and Assessor Certificate (required).
- MINCOM certification – Inspecting or Sectional Engineering Certificate of Competency (required).
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a mining or related industrial environment.
- Strong background in mechanical maintenance processes and mining operations.

- Ability to follow structured procedures and complete technical tasks accurately.
- Strong problem-solving skills using practical judgment and experience-based learning.
- Ability to identify alternatives through observation, trial, and continuous improvement.
- Capacity to improve working methods using daily operational experience and patterns.
