Position Summary
The Team Lead, Apprenticeship Training will lead structured technical training programs for apprentices, ensuring they acquire the required operational, safety, and technical competencies. The successful candidate will coordinate training delivery, assess performance, and support continuous improvement in workforce capability within mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate apprenticeship training programs in line with operational requirements.
- Deliver advanced technical training in mining operations and mechanical engineering practices.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate apprentices to ensure competency development.
- Apply structured training methodologies and assess learning outcomes using approved tools.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to support development.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, training procedures, and operational policies.
- Support continuous improvement of training content, methods, and delivery processes.
- Collaborate with operational teams to align training with production needs.
- Maintain accurate training records, assessments, and reports.
- Promote a positive learning environment that encourages discipline, responsibility, and teamwork.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
- Workplace Trainer and Assessor Certificate (required).
- MINCOM certification – Inspecting or Sectional Engineering Certificate of Competency (required).
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a mining or related industrial environment.
- Strong technical expertise in mining operations and mechanical systems.
- Advanced knowledge of training methodologies and competency-based learning.
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
