Position Summary

The bakery is seeking a skilled and reliable Breakfast Chef to prepare and present a variety of breakfast items and baked offerings. The successful candidate will ensure timely preparation, consistent quality, and strict adherence to food safety standards.

The role requires strong culinary skills, speed, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively during early morning operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of breakfast items including pastries, eggs, sandwiches, baked goods, and light meals.
  • Follow standardized recipes and ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
  • Ensure timely preparation and service of breakfast items each day.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety in all kitchen areas.
  • Assist in menu planning and breakfast product development.
  • Monitor food stock levels and report shortages for replenishment.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients and prepared foods.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Work closely with bakery and kitchen staff to ensure smooth morning operations.
  • Minimize food waste and support efficient use of ingredients.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Previous experience as a chef, cook, or breakfast cook in a bakery, hotel, or restaurant is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work early morning shifts and under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency in food preparation.
  • Ability to follow instructions and standardized recipes.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Commitment to cleanliness, safety, and professionalism.
