Floating Pharmacist

About the Role

A reputable healthcare organization is seeking a qualified and customer-focused Floating Pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical services across multiple pharmacy locations within Accra and surrounding areas.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safe dispensing of medications, delivering exceptional patient care, supporting branch operations, and maintaining compliance with all professional and regulatory requirements. This role is ideal for an adaptable and proactive pharmacist who enjoys working in diverse environments and contributing to high standards of healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription medications accurately and in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
• Review prescriptions for appropriateness, dosage accuracy, drug interactions, and contraindications.
• Provide patients with medication counselling and guidance on proper medication use.
• Deliver pharmaceutical care and support to customers and patients across assigned branches.
• Ensure compliance with Pharmacy Council regulations, company policies, and professional ethical standards.
• Monitor and manage medication inventory, including stock rotation and expiry control.
• Support branch teams in maintaining accurate pharmacy records and documentation.
• Handle customer enquiries and provide appropriate healthcare advice within the scope of practice.
• Assist in implementing quality assurance and patient safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient treatment outcomes.
• Support branch operations during staff shortages, peak periods, leave cover, and special assignments.
• Participate in health promotion and public health education activities when required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from a recognized institution.
• Valid registration and practicing licence issued by the Pharmacy Council of Ghana.
• Minimum of three (3) years of post-qualification experience as a Pharmacist.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products, medication therapy management, and patient counselling.
• Experience working in community pharmacy, retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or a similar setting.
