Position Summary

Matrix Agroscience is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations and support accurate financial reporting and compliance.

The successful candidate will maintain financial records, manage accounts, support budgeting processes, and ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments including sales, operations, and warehouse teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and statements.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier and distributor accounts.
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor company cash flow.
  • Process payroll and ensure timely statutory payments including SSNIT, PAYE, VAT, NHIL, and other obligations.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Maintain accurate inventory-related financial records in collaboration with operations and warehouse teams.
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial reports for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) regulations and other statutory requirements.
  • Assist in internal and external audit processes.
  • Monitor company expenses and recommend cost-control and efficiency measures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (ACCA, ICA Ghana, or CIMA) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in accounting or financial management roles.
  • Experience in agribusiness or related industry will be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Ghanaian tax laws and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Tally.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
