Position Summary
The Finance Manager provides strategic and operational leadership in financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and compliance. The role ensures strong financial stewardship, effective internal controls, and full adherence to applicable regulatory and governance standards. The Finance Manager also supports executive leadership with accurate financial insights for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans
- Oversee timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with regulatory standards
- Strengthen internal control systems and ensure effective risk management practices
- Manage audits and implement audit recommendations
- Ensure compliance with Ghanaian financial regulations and institutional governance requirements
- Provide financial analysis and strategic insights to senior leadership
- Supervise and develop the finance team to achieve operational excellence
- Manage ERP/accounting systems and ensure data integrity and efficiency
- Oversee cash flow management and financial resource optimization
- Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and regulators
Educational and Professional Requirements
- A minimum of a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional qualification (ICAG, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is required
- 7–10 years of relevant professional experience
- At least 3 years in a senior management or leadership role
- Strong knowledge of Ghanaian financial regulations and governance frameworks
- Experience in a membership-based, non-profit, or professional institution is an added advantage
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
