Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Grader Operator to join our operations team in Akyem, New Abirem. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating motor graders to support road construction, road maintenance, site preparation, drainage works, and other earthmoving activities that contribute to efficient mining operations.

This role requires a professional who can operate equipment with precision, maintain high safety standards, and support productivity goals across the site.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Operation

• Operate motor graders safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures and operational requirements.
• Perform grading activities for haul roads, access roads, stockpile areas, drainage systems, and work sites.
• Ensure road surfaces are maintained to support safe and efficient movement of personnel and equipment.
• Execute grading work according to engineering specifications and supervisor instructions.
• Support site development and earthworks activities as required.

Safety & Compliance

• Adhere strictly to all health, safety, environmental, and operational policies.
• Conduct pre-start inspections and identify equipment defects or safety concerns.
• Report incidents, hazards, and maintenance issues promptly.
• Participate actively in safety meetings, training sessions, and toolbox talks.
• Promote a culture of safety and operational excellence across the worksite.

Equipment Maintenance & Care

• Carry out routine equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance checks.
• Monitor equipment performance and report any faults or abnormalities.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and operational readiness.
• Complete equipment logs, inspection reports, and operational records accurately.

Operational Support

• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and fellow operators to achieve production and maintenance objectives.
• Support road construction, rehabilitation, drainage improvements, and general earthmoving activities.
• Assist in implementing initiatives that improve site efficiency, safety, and productivity.
• Perform other duties assigned within the scope of the role.

Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for this position, you should possess:

• An HND, Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Proven experience operating motor graders or similar heavy-duty equipment within mining, construction, or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of grading techniques, road maintenance, and earthmoving operations.
• Understanding of heavy equipment maintenance and operational best practices.
• Knowledge of workplace health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• A valid heavy equipment operating certification or license will be an added advantage.
