Position Summary
The University of Ghana is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and results-oriented Station Officer to support the effective management and growth of its broadcasting and digital media operations. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the successful candidate will provide leadership across station activities, enhance audience engagement, strengthen public communication efforts, and ensure the delivery of high-quality content that reflects the University’s mission and serves the interests of its stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
As Station Officer, you will:
- Supervise unit heads and ensure the effective execution of departmental responsibilities and operational objectives.
- Lead the station’s digital and social media strategy by developing platform-specific content plans, monitoring audience engagement, and optimizing performance through data-driven insights.
- Manage media relations and public communication activities, including press content development, stakeholder engagement initiatives, and external visibility campaigns.
- Analyze audience feedback, engagement trends, and performance metrics to continuously improve programming and content effectiveness.
- Oversee the station’s logistical requirements to ensure the timely availability and efficient use of resources.
- Maintain high standards of broadcast and digital content quality that align with the interests of the University and its stakeholders.
- Support the General Manager in ensuring compliance with applicable University policies, national regulations, and broadcasting standards.
- Implement and monitor public safety measures within the station and ensure that station events comply with University regulations and audience expectations.
- Drive advocacy and mission-focused communication initiatives that position the station as a trusted platform for civic awareness, transparency, and public education.
- Foster collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across station operations and teams.

Requirements
- Master’s degree in Communication, Media Studies, or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional certification will be considered an advantage.
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in broadcast and digital media.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Practical experience with broadcast technologies, digital content production tools, and media management platforms.
- Strong understanding of social and digital media management, including audience analytics, content scheduling, targeting, and performance reporting.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Creative mindset with a commitment to innovation and quality.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining high professional standards.
