Position Purpose
The Electrical Test Instrument Sales Person will drive business growth by promoting and selling electrical test and measurement equipment to existing and prospective customers. The role is responsible for identifying business opportunities, developing customer relationships, providing technical product guidance, and achieving sales targets.
The successful candidate will combine technical knowledge with strong sales skills to deliver solutions that meet customer requirements while contributing to the company’s commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development
- Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities within target markets and industries.
- Promote and sell electrical test and measurement instruments to industrial, commercial, utility, and engineering clients.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
- Generate and follow up on leads, quotations, and sales opportunities.
- Conduct regular customer visits, presentations, and product demonstrations.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable technical solutions.
- Provide professional support throughout the sales cycle, from inquiry to after-sales service.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term client retention.
Technical Product Support
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of electrical test instruments and their applications.
- Provide technical advice and product recommendations based on customer needs.
- Support customers with product selection, specifications, and operational guidance.
- Stay informed about product developments, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
Sales Planning and Reporting
- Prepare sales forecasts, activity reports, and market intelligence updates.
- Monitor sales performance against targets and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, and sales activities.
- Provide regular reports on market developments, competitor activities, and customer feedback.
Market Development
- Identify new market segments and growth opportunities.
- Participate in trade exhibitions, technical seminars, and industry events to promote company products and services.
- Support marketing initiatives aimed at increasing brand visibility and market penetration.
- Gather and communicate market insights to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in the sales of electrical test instruments or related technical products.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
- Experience working with industrial, utility, engineering, or technical customers is highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of electrical test and measurement products and their applications.
- Understanding of electrical systems, testing procedures, and industry standards.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers.
