Position Purpose
The Finance Manager will provide strategic financial leadership and oversee the organization’s financial management function. The role is responsible for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, compliance, treasury management, and internal controls to support effective decision-making and sustainable business performance.
The successful candidate will ensure financial integrity, drive operational efficiency, and provide valuable financial insights that support organizational growth and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Management
- Lead the development and implementation of financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Monitor financial performance and recommend actions to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Support strategic decision-making through financial analysis and business insights.
Financial Reporting
- Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure timely reporting of financial performance to management and key stakeholders.
- Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to improve financial outcomes.
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial records and reporting systems.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process across departments.
- Monitor budget performance and investigate significant variances.
- Develop financial forecasts and scenario analyses to support business planning.
- Provide guidance to departmental managers on budget management and cost control.
Compliance and Internal Controls
- Establish and maintain effective internal control systems and financial procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure implementation of audit recommendations.
- Monitor financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
Treasury and Cash Flow Management
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital requirements.
- Oversee banking relationships and treasury activities.
- Ensure adequate financial resources are available to support business operations and growth initiatives.
- Monitor cash utilization and optimize financial resource allocation.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to achieve departmental objectives.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Set performance expectations and support staff development initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and best practices.
Business Partnership and Support
- Partner with operational and executive teams to provide financial guidance and support.
- Evaluate business opportunities, investments, and projects from a financial perspective.
- Support business growth initiatives through robust financial planning and analysis.
- Contribute to organizational strategy development and execution.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- A Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field will be considered an added advantage.
Professional Qualifications
- Professional certification such as:
- ACCA
- ICA
- CPA
- Or an equivalent recognized accounting qualification is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in finance, accounting, or financial management.
- At least 3 years of experience in a managerial or leadership role.
- Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Experience managing finance teams and implementing effective financial controls.

- Excellent understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial management principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Sound knowledge of financial controls, compliance, taxation, and statutory reporting requirements.
