Position Summary

The Assistant Sales Manager will support the Sales Manager in developing and implementing effective sales strategies, driving revenue growth, managing customer relationships, and monitoring sales performance. The successful candidate will play a key role in achieving business objectives by supporting the sales team, identifying new business opportunities, and using data-driven insights to improve sales performance.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Planning & Business Development

  • Assist in developing and executing sales strategies that achieve business growth objectives.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand the company’s customer base.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Support the preparation of sales forecasts and business development plans.
  • Promote the company’s products and services to increase market share.

Sales Performance Management

  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance against established targets.
  • Analyse sales data and prepare reports to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Recommend strategies that improve sales productivity and business performance.
  • Assist in tracking key performance indicators and sales metrics.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Respond promptly to customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally.
  • Strengthen long-term relationships with customers through regular engagement and follow-up.
  • Support customer retention and account development initiatives.

Team Support & Coordination

  • Support and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and departmental objectives.
  • Coordinate sales activities and ensure efficient communication between departments.
  • Assist in training and coaching sales representatives on products, services, and sales techniques.
  • Promote teamwork and a high-performance culture.

Reporting & Administration

  • Prepare regular sales reports and performance updates for management.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales documentation, and market intelligence.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and sales procedures.
  • Support the implementation of sales improvement initiatives and special projects.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the same or a similar sales role.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret sales data to support business decisions.
  • Experience in business development and customer relationship management will be an advantage.
